Awful wind noise

As per the thread title.

Ever since it was in a rear end shunt last year i've noticed there's a definite whistling wind rush noise from above / behind the drivers side and also above 90 / 100 the overall noise is like being in a wind tunnel!

Any thoughts?

I'll attempt the window reset - the window seals have been treated with Gummi Pflege already.

Cheers!

Similar problem here...

Gummi pflege on seals, adjusting doors, nothing has made a difference.....

I can slide a piece of paper between window and "seal" - think this is the problem but I haven't had chance to look at adjusting the window position (believe inner / outer adjustments mean the door card has to come off)

IGummi pfleged my seals and it made a huge difference to the little bit of windnoise i did have.

Have you checked the roof is closing properly?

Kph I assume or driving in Germany or a track...

Assuming they are related and not that you just happen to have noticed it since the bump then I'd check panel gap around the door. If that's all OK then from there check the window to seal seating and compare each side, in particular the top rear corner where the seal is flatter. Possibly it's moved in which case you'll need to adjust the glass in the lifting mechanism.

Never needed to do it but I believe you can access the adjusters through holes in the bottom of the door.

Lets hope the window reset cures it otherwise sounds like something got twisted, hope you get it sorted. Cheers Baz

Cheers for the feedback guys.

I might be being paranoid - but let me know what you think of the above video in terms of overall noise.

Twisting is something i'd hope you didn't mention :(.

When you say check the roof's closing properly - it opens and closes absolutely fine? Anything else to check regarding this?

I've done :

- Window reset
- Moved door catch in a couple of mm
- Gummi Pflege on all rubber seals around the door

Panel gaps are all spot on - i'd notice that sort of thing.

I can't slide paper between it, but if I close the paper between door and seal, a small tug and it slides out.

On an unrelated note I have noticed some of the trim around the hood seal is not sitting flush on the side in question - but this wouldn't cause it surely :

i need to invest in some of this gummi fledge stuff!!!

I have a small amount of road noise from a certain corner of my window but i just put it down to it being my 1st soft top so im over reacting lol.... so your saying you can alter the angle of the window when it closes so it can push itself more tight as such against the seal?? is this a difficult job and is there a tutorial/video that anybody knows of?

thanks :D

Also noticed when driving over 60 a cold draft (when all heaters off) so temp drops quickly. Can feel a slight chill around the edges of the windscreen?

One of the seals on the drivers side has a slight gap (external) so this won't help.

Also the small none moveable vents directed at the windows.

try pushing slightly on the side window in different places and see if the wind noise increases with each push against the glass.

Also, check the front windshield rubbers. i had a windscreen installed and the rubber was not set correctly, it cause all sorts of turbulence and noise.
