I dont have the pricing catalogue for the M Coupe but base price for the 3l sport was £33,625 in 2007. So cant have been too far off.

I'm not trying to justify the price of this particular car but the original list price is irrelevant. A BMW Z8 now sells for a lot more than it's original purchase price, as does an E30 M3.
