I have just invested £1k on a projector and screen circa 100" my viewing distance is 24 feet away

And it blows away my 50" panasonic plasma

Awesome for watching films on streaming or blu ray

And for gaming on xbox superb

I got my package from richer sounds and I already have a onkio av amp and surround speakers
 
I think it's quite ironic how TV's used to be convex, then they went all flat, then the went all slim and flat, now they're going convex and flat. I predict spherical and sitting inside with five years.
 
Saw a 55" Samsung (or was it LG?) curved TV in Curries at the weekend. About £1500 to £2k I think.

Shame we only upgraded our TV about 2 yrs ago!

Unfortunately I couldn't fit 100" screen into my house, and a viewing distance of 24 feet away would probably put me in the conservatory, or next door :D
 
I've been looking at the 55 inch curved OLED LG, But i can't see if it upscales 1080P. Samsung TV's do and some other do. Ive looked at 1080p on an HDTV OLED and its not so good without the X4 upscale. Actually its rather rubbish.
 
152" ? You would need a hell of a room to make viewing comfortable (or a normal room and a fragile ego)

Its nothing to do with size. Its what you do with it :-D
 
I got a 55' (baby) Sammy 4k tv... We love it ...but there is a lack of 4k media! Save your cash for a few years :thumbsup:

Moral of the story is don't be a tech freak like me..... 4k media is way off yet! :cry:

Agree with that. Last (Samsung) TV I bought had 3D that looked awesome in store but never really translated to day to day.

Agreed on the 3D viewing too .... watched 3D movies when new but we don't bother with it now :?
 
I couldn't resist and bought a 55" Sony 4K TV 3 weeks ago. We got it for €1800 (roughly £1400?) with a nice discount since it was one of the first Sony model.
I know that some may think 4K is useless AND it is stupid to buy a first model (and I agree with cars..) but... what a major improvement over my previous 32" LG! Image is just amazing with details, once you watch a bluray.

The sound is also just incredible coming from TV speakers, which is something that also helped us to make our decision as we didn't want crap sound coming from the rear or invest on a full set of speakers to fill the living room.

Prices will continue to drop, so if you need to change your TV soon, I would definitely say to focus on 4K TV!
 
In harrods a few years ago and spotted a 104 inch TV. Price tag on it said £22k. I thought that was quite good. Looked again it was the price for the stand. TV was £122k B-) decided to leave it.

I recently bought a 60" Hd LED Samsung for £950. Really pleased with it, didn't want 3d and will be due an upgrade when 4k is as common as HD
