Hi,

I'm looking for a new set of tyres for commuting/every day use but not in a position to pay £150+ a corner unfortunately.

I was looking at these Avon ZZ5s and they seem to get very good reviews. They're £95 a tyre at ATS right now.

Are they decent? Should I avoid?

Thanks in advance for all advice

I have been running a staggered set of 18" Avon ZZ5s on my Zed for 2 years now and have covered 13,000miles without incident. I have had several sets of Avon tyres on a few different cars including 3 BMWs. This is my second set of ZZ5s and I think they are a superb tyre in their price range. Plenty of grip in all conditions, excellent handling characteristics, good longevity and British-made ! I got my current set from Oponeo and currently a staggered set of 18" from them will cost you a very reasonable £338 delivered :D .
I can thoroughly recommend them and will definitely be buying my third set of ZZ5s when these are done.

Hi, I ran them on my 3.0si for a few years/25k miles & was impressed by them-fronts were still healthy but rears almost done at that mileage

I have zz5 on the back of mine (and zz3s on the front) ill replace them all with zz5 when the time comes. Good value tyres imo.
Should add that i bought the car with that tyre set up.

Yep when I bought my coupe there was a new set of ZZ5 all around

Impressed with them and when my contis wear out on back I think I'll be going back to the Avons

In the front still 4mm left after 25k!!

That seems like a resounding YES. That'll do for me :)

Thanks to all for sharing your experiences
