average sleep

I function on 6, like 7 and at the weekends try for 8, however no matter what time I go to bed, 6 hours later I will awake.

8 hrs for me ...........
after a lifetime of woking offshore I can fall asleep anywhere, noise is no problem :D

Interestingly our in house 19 year old needs about 20 hrs sleep a day, he is indeed half man half mattrass.

That seems age related with me. Weekdays I struggle to wake up, weekends my brain sparks up at stupid o'clock. Then I sit on the forum with a coffee...

I need 8+ to not feel tired when I wake the next day. Kind off depends on sleep cycles though - if I wake early (say after 6 hours) then go back to sleep for 2 more, I'll often feel really crap in comparison to if I'd just got up when I'd woken earlier.

For me it's been like that most of my life, the only good thing is that I sleep through, can't imagine getting up multiple times during the night to go for a pee.

If I have to get up, I can't wake up. If I have nothing to wake up for, I get up at 7 :)

Usually wake up lots with "dead" arms or cramp in my feet etc. Hayfever throughout the summer causes lots of sleepless nights and drowsy days as well.

Function best in winter :)

Generally 7 hours each night, and generally asleep within 2 minutes of lights out...literally!

Annoys Mrs L no end.

May be carpal or cubital tunnel syndrome PVR. Google them both and see your GP if the symptoms fit - there are very easy surgical solutions for both (and even non-operative treatments if you want to deny me my fun :D )

Yes - I am familiar with that as my dad had an operation for it. I would do it if it was all the time, but I don't seem to get it much when I travel and sleep around so to speak :) Not to sure if that Tempur mattress is doing me any good and numbing me.

Would you really get much fun out of that? You're probably too senior, SHO level operation...even I have done one :poke:

Tell your wife that a doctor has advised you to sleep around more to help with your nerves :D

As we've discussed before Ruby, I derive great pleasure from operating regardless of the complexity of the procedure, that's why I became a surgeon :P

Carpal Tunnel..... joy... i'm getting the onset of that after breaking both my arms snowboarding! Had a plate and a few bolts to put me back together and i've been told its one of the side effects!

As for sleep.... max 5 hrs a night every night, same for past 10 years, and still full of beans and active all the time...

I'll let the expert BMWZ4MC answer that one. Most likely though you'll end up having to come see someone like me first to get assessed.

lol, there's a few single (and otherwise) members of the forum that have been working hard to get an invite like that!
