Average age of zed pilots

I spent decades restoring and driving "old" sports cars, MGs Triumphs and Mazdas until I could afford real cars and at 55 I am a true relic.

 :D 8) :D

I make him 73/74 depending on the month born

73 it is, as someone said earlier it's a state of mind, though I find the roof is down more 'cos its much easier to in and out of!

Morning all,
our 1st so called sports car was an early facelift capri, then we had a little fiat 500cc 2door sport coupe as family cars, as i rode motorcycles as my main mode of transport up until february this year, then got my 1st Z, loving it, and i'm 63... :driving:

I guess the Zimmer Frame in the boot impacts greatly on the storage space though? :)

Thanks Jimbo, it does, though being re-sprayed in Toledo Blue raises a few eyebrows.

64 here, and maybe not a Z4 pilot for much longer - seen something I may not be able to resist so seriously thinking about it.

Although I drove and had an interest in cars from 17 onwards (mentioned here before that my Dad had his own garage business so spent a lot of time there) my first passion was always bikes. I had quite a few years off them while the kids were growing up so took an interest MGs and became very involved with the clubs and restoring old cars. I did two and a half for myself - a BGT and a Roadster and half a Midget which got as a far as welding up all the rotten bodywork and rebuilding the engine before selling it to a guy locally who wanted to make a race car out of it. Went back to biking in my mid 40s and still riding now, I'll only ever pack in when I can no longer put a leg over the seat

Couple of my old MGs here - mostly the restoration of the Roadster though: http://s1310.photobucket.com/user/DewiSantPhotography/library/MGs?sort=2&page=1

67 and find the Smarttop module is a great help getting in or out!

I've only got a 3.0l and often wish I'd waited for a 35is. - maybe the next one?

45 :P

Moved away from kit cars about 4 years ago when the 'personality' of cars whose dials either lied or did not function, and would choose to shed random parts now and again just to keep you on your toes started to wain somewhat.

Having a car with a working heater is a novelty too!

I'm 30
Always had a performance car since I was 17 and have been prepared to pay the higher insurance costs.
Planning on keeping the ///M Coupe until I can afford something like a 997 911 which won't be anytime soon.
