AUX wire merge problem

So ive instaled my AUX cable and it works BUT only when plugged into the BLUETOOTH socket on the back of the H/U.
For a start, the moduling piece on the end does not plug into the CD changer socket, so i swapepd it with the one for the CD changer, plugged it in but it doesnt work in that socket...bizzare. I swapped the plastic mouldings back and the CD changer works.

My car is a 2006 06 2.5si roadster

I thought - OK i'll merge the pins with the bluetooth socket - simple. Did that, plugged the combined plug back into the HU and hey presto, now neither the bluetooth or the AUX works (sound for the bluetooth that is). Thinking id made a mistake, i remove the pins for the AUX (it has 3 pins for the AUX cable i got) and plus the B/T SOCKET back in and yes - b/t works again.

I then remove b/t and stick the AUX back in and that works

So it appears that my AUX pins WONT work in the cd changer socket, either merged or alone BUT will work in the B/T socket alone BUT not when merged with the B/'T pins

Whats going on????

Thanks
Jamie

Sorry but some of the info on this forum is incorrect...

The Aux In doesnt work through the CD Changer plug (White). It uses the 'other' plug (Bluetooth and Sat Nav). So that part is correct.

First thing to check is that you have the wiring corrent... Took me a few goes iirc but eventually got it. Never used it since though as the sound quality is CRAP from a earphone source!!

Excellent - that explains it. I was copying the pinouts from the
existing block into the b/t plug

I'll follow this diagram and report back

thanks again!!
