Aux sound question

finally managed to get my AUX lead in and fitted,(took 3 tries to get it in the right position!) came up AUX straight away and can hear my iPhone, but its really quiet (ive made sure the phone is on full vol) have to crank the radio right up to hear it and then the quality is poor, is it just my leads or is everyone elses the same>

where did you get the lead from?

mine was loud enough for the oem system

i bought it off someone on here, its a proper BMW one, im gonna take it all to bits and play with it again see if i can improve it

sure this isn't down to your eq settings (both on the device and the radio)/your actual audio system?

For an oem system, the factory upgraded stereo in my 86 was actually really impressive (of course I still had to upgrade it all! :evil: )

I have no complaints on the AUX in, combined with the extended audio version in a E85 2003. Sure, there is a slight bit more white noise, but what does one expect when using a headphone plug.

Also, I use a cable ending in a headphone plug (ordered via Ebay), rather than the thing where one plugs the headphone plug in normally (and as OEM used by BMW).

Eliminates one (bad) connection, so may improve your sound:

Looks an interesting way of doing it and negates the need for a seperate lead to plug the two together!
