AUX Issues

recently fitted an original AUX input to my 03 Z4 but when I plug into the cigarette lighter to charge there is a feedback noise heard with the music, its only there when plugged to charge and its a humming noise.

Tried with a friends Y cable and it seemed drastically reduced in fact struggled to hear any feedback noise at all really, so will a Y cable be the way forward and is it ok to buy one that says from 2007 onwards as there dont appear to be any for my year?

Wierd thing is was when my friend put his iphone in with the setup im using there was no feedback :?

he has iphone 4 and mines a 4s
 
Does the OEM AUX-in have a separate volume setting from the radio?

On my Honda I can have the AUX-in volume turned up to 10 and the radio volume will remain on 5 so I don't get my ears blown off when switching between the two. But on some cars I've driven this is not the case.
 
i have no noise with mine and ive located right next to my power socket...???? re-check connection..... my sounds clear like a CD.
