I have the grey BMW business CD player, I can select 'AUX' via the mode button but cannot find and aux input anywhere, does the fact that the source is selectable on the stereo mean that an aux cable is connected or would the option always be there?

If AUX is showing up on the head unit it means that an AUX cable must be plugged in (or an AUX emulator) maybe check in the ash tray, under the center console (almost above the ashtray on the plastic trim) or there might be something in the glove box?

During the "grey" days, Aux in was always put in the glove box.

Thanks for the clarification on this, Ive had a good look around the dash and in the glove box but couldnt find it. At least now I know it must be there somewhere so will keep hunting.

Take the ash tray out, perhaps the previous owner put it underneath it.

Might still need one fitting. Pull radio out and see if there is one connected.
Cheap enough and easy enough to fit.

If the vent is an issue, take the glove box out and you should see the cable anyway.

I found it!, socket was fitted right up in the top of the glove box, I thought I was looking for a cable. Thanks for you help guys, I was about to start spending money on stuff I already had!
