Hi Guys,

Wanting to do the aux input mod so i can plug my ipod in but when i called my local dealer and gave them the part number (82 11 0 153 367) they say the number i supplied isn't recognisable on the system.

Can anyone who's done this mod give me the correct part number please.

Also, does it matter which year your car is?, mine is a 08/2004 model.

Thanks,

Mark

an alternative, if you're feeling adventurous...

I've made one up, but not gotten round to fitting it and trying it out!

Will this still work if you have the sat nav package too?

Reason for asking, i will be buying and retro-fitting the nav equipment.

Thanks

As far as I know, yes, it'll work.

Just out of interest, where are you sourcing the nav retrofit components from?

This being my first post I may airing too close to the OCD side.... I have the Aux input in the car but wondered if anyone could recommend the cable to attach the phone to the input, ie. the 3.5mm jack. I dont want a massive cable hanging around and looking a mess, any ideas?

Thanks

welcome along :)

I use one of these: Belkin iPod adapter

If not iPhone/iPod just any 3.5mm jack to jack cable should suffice.

I use this , perfect only 4"long ! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130390438580

Have got the same lead as Kermit and it works great and it is small enough to leave it in position.

Hi, why do you use this connection over a standard jack to jack connection... is there better sound quality... silly question but does your lead charge the phone?

I have a BMW/mini iPod adaptor that hooks into ibus etc and audio harness, gives steering wheel control and charging ability. Latest iPods and I4 need little adapter. Available for sale immediately, just installed intravee.

Uses radio buttons to mimic cd's as playlists. 30 min install, all instructions supplied.

Let me know by pm

i recommend this guy - cable works perfect no intermittent noises when charging (thumping noise etc) spot on. Helpful guy too and half cost of stealers!

i made my own years back but it had problems when you connect a charger to phone you would get noise through.

Thanks for the various options guys....

However... Im yet to make my mind up, I have the phone prep as a factory fitted option and currently connect my iphone 4 via bluetooth for phone calls which is great as I can control from the steering wheel controls, its the music i need to get access to and therefore there are several options I guess;
- simple Aux input
- Aux and charge?
- Inserting it into the 'phone thing' in the centre console

Either way in a dream world I would love to control the ipod/iphone on the steering wheel and have the songs on the stereo display, so which way do I go?!

Would really appreciate your help!

James
