Aux in question

So i got the aux in cable for my car to connect to the built in tablet (pics coming soon). Is it supposed to be quieter than all the other sources e.g. radio, cd, changer.

If i set a volume comfortable listening on the radio, then switch to aux, it sounds really quiet, and i have to turn it up loads to hear it, problem being if i forget to turn it back down before switching to another source, i get very deaf very quickly!. Ive tried with other devices plugged in, ipad, iphone, mac, laptop, it happens on them all. Have i got a duff cable, or is there a setting i need to change, or can i code the radio to make it louder (only reason i ask the last one is because you can code pretty much anything on these lol)

anyways thoughts and feedback :)

There is meant to be an aux volume control, however in the guides I've seen on the net to alter it, they don't work on my 2004.

You can adjust volume by pressing the number 5 and 6 when aux in use
