AUX cable grrr

Just bought a BMW OEM cable plugged in nothing , BMW are telling me it needs coding, is this correct, because every write up I have read says plug and play 2007 3.0 si :o
 
Just waiting for them to ring back with a price for coding :(

No coding needed,I've used the same cable on both my Zeds and never had to pay a stealer to code it.
Have you pressed the mode button on the HU every time you press it scrolls through a different option,radio,cd and aux .

It's either defective, counterfeit, or improperly installed, as it should just work.
 
I had the same problem with mine when I fitted it first, I was sent another cable with a resisitor installed ...then it worked !
There is some info on this forum about soldering in a resistor etc., but I'd just get another one from your supplier !

...even says that at the end of in the Installation Instructions !..well not "coding my arse" :)
 
ive just installed this and its definitely one of the best mods ive done in a while, loving streaming my fave radio station and playing it through the aux port, i get awesome sound quality too..... really pleased with this mod, the pins you need to use are 3-4-10 :-) you'll get AUX now as an option, doesnt need to be coded!! heres where i installed mine...



dont suppose anyone knows how to turn off the speed increasing volumn on the radio, its really anoying!!!
 
I turned off the gala on mine in the secret menu. I can have a look at my previous posts and try and find it for you.
