I've read through the AUX DIY thread, but Im still kinda confused if it will work with my NAV DSP radio. I cant find any iPod adapters that will work with it.
Does anyone know what my options are?

Thanks for the help!!

AUX will definitely work with Nav, do not see why not with DSP.

Other options such as intravee and dension are discussed elsewhere but cannot fault the simple AUX cable for the money and simplicity.

Aux is exactly that, for any aux device that has the plug that fits. No worries re NAV or DSP.

i bought a cheap connects2 cable, it didnt work as i thought as it just took over the cd multichanger input. i plugged it in to the only slot i could on the back of the radio, so i think it was the cable itself maybe? never had the option to select aux on the radio.

i have the carver dsp but i now prefer to burn cds for the car, means i dont leave my iphone behind in the car at least!

Sweet! Thanks for the help!

I bought an iPod adapter that Crutchfield said would work....but it didnt!

Im gonna try to stop at the dealer this Thursday...since its across town :driving:

Sounds like the cable had the wrong pins wired up, for AUX i believe its pins 3,4 and 10. Aux input only comes available when a signal is detected, you can easily make a cable that will work.

I should go for the E46's AUX cable right? Part number #82 11 0 149 389

Or is the MINI's just as good? Part Number #82 11 0 153 367

If I recall, you have to switch the pins on the AUX harness to make it work on the Z4?

Thanks again! And sorry for my noobness! :D

If you ring the dealer and give your reg they will give you the part number.

If you have the cdchanger and bluetooth you will need to take pins out and insert them in the corresponding empty holes on the bluetooth plug. Sounds complicated but its not!

not sure if this is the thread you read,,

but I do know the mini aux and the z4 are exactly the same part, just the mini one is cheaper

RustyZ4: They're exactly the same part?! Hahaha Plus, I do dig cheaper prices!!

I did read the thread, I think Im gonna do the input right under the air controls like ovrkll

I'll post some pics on Thursday
