Autotrader GAP insurance

Hi folks,

Has anyone had any experience with the GAP insurance offered through AutoTrader? It's from ALA. The quote for 'up to invoice price' cover from them is nearly £500 less than BMW FS quoted through the dealer.

Any other recommendations for GAP insurance? Is there a comparison site for these type of policy?

I'd be interested in a policy that also protected your personal deposit, as all the policies I've seen so far are just about clearing your finance - conveniently forgetting to point out that a write-off in the first year would likely see the £5k of your own money you sunk into the vehicle go with it into the crusher!

Thanks!

I used car2cover. A few people I knew had used them for GAP and tyre insurance one of whom had made a claim without any problems. They were slightly cheaper than ALA for me.

ALA are widely used by people on the f20 forum and all seem happy.

I went direct to ALA - The fella I spoke to was very helpful - I suppose there is only one way to really decide if they are good or not!

Bought the BMW one in the past at £499!!!!

Then heard about ALA so got a quote! Amazing!

When we got the Z4 I told the BMW salesman to match the ALA quote or forget it. He said he had, so I bought it off him (about the same price). Paperwork turned up and it was only for £10k of cover!!!!! So I gave him s**t that he'd conned me (which he had!) and cancelled and went with ALA.

i got my girlfriends F20 quote via ALA aswell

£115 use code vri4434 takes it to £106.95 go via TCB and get £11.87 cashback making £95.08 !!

I was gobsmacked!!
