Autosmart Topaz "hybrid" wax/polish

Nice work Jimbo , looks good :) the secret to getting this stuff on easy & removing even easier is make sure paint is totally 100% dry & wait until the wax has dried fully before removing

mr wilks, as you enjoy cleanig cars so much i will go for a brew over weekend and you can spend an hour on my car :)

If you turned up with a freshly washed & dried car by the time you had ordered the coffees the wax would be on , by the time we had drunk them the wax would be dried & by the time you'd taken the cups back i'd have buffed it off :P

Topaz arrived today. Washed the car and applied as Andy suggested.
It really does come off easily with a Microfibre once dry. Really does only need a little as it covers such a big area with just a small amount.
Certainly leaves a nice wet glossy finish even on my car that really needs a paint correction.
Can see myself buying more of this when finished.
I'd been following this on Detailingworld but didn't follow up on it as I had just bought some Reload which I wasn't too impressed with.
This stuff is in a different league and thanks again Andy for the heads up.

What was the problem with Reload, Jimbo? I'm a massive fan, having moved on from C2V3. Have you tried Hydr02/Lite?

Having seen lots of recommendations for Reload especially on white cars, I was very underwhelmed after using it.
The finish didn't impress me at all and after the next wash I was getting smears all over the car. It was almost as if the Reload was washing away.
Must admit I only used it the once and had intended to try it again on my daughters car but never got around to it.
Topaz on the other hand beats it into the ground. Go's on easy, comes off easy, doesnt leave white marks on rubbers etc and the finish is easily the best I've had on the car.
Not tried Hydr02/Lite and can't see me trying anything else whilst I have some Topaz left. :D

Cheers. After doing the roof and bonnet, I then went around and applied to the rest of the car before buffing off with a microfibre and this was on a very sunny day. Left to dry and as you say and it was effortless to buff off.
On a non white car it would be even easier as most waxes/sealants are a PITA to see on the white.

Has anyone yet tried applying Topaz in the sunshine such as we have been experiencing today?

Some polishes can me a nightmare to buff in the sunshine.

It was in direct sunshine when I did mine yesterday and it buffed off a treat.

Was contemplating getting a DA polisher but think I will get some of this and see what its like. Have read through the DW thread, looks like this can go on paint, alloys and glass. I am due to do my first proper clean of my car (clay, tar removal, iron removal) once complete seems as if this stuff would do the trick. Couple of questions, would two coats of this enhance it and could I put a wax on top, Autoglym HD?

Mine arrived this morning and a sample patch of the bonnet and upper front wing looks to be fulfilling expectations.
Needs a proper wash first and then the complete polish. It is easy to apply and buff off.

Finally got a chance to give Autosmart Topaz a whirl, after 5 hours of grafting which involved this, Snow Foam (Bilt Hamber Snow Foam), Wash (Meguiar's Gold Class Car Shampoo, 2 bucket method), Dry, Autosmart Tardis, Rinse, Iron X (Car Pro), Rinse, Clay (Bilt Hamber Soft) , Wash, 2 coats of Autosmart Topaz, and then a coat of Autoglym HD Wax gave this

Photos don't show the shine it gives, looks incredible, well chuffed, although I am sore all over today from the graft. Its rained today and gives decent beading

Great looking car & your efforts look well

After 4/6 weeks with Topaz on my car i find its holding the shine & feel with just wash & dry required to bring the paint back up .
For the money id say its a great all round product for anyone wanting a decent finish , easy to achieve & not spend silly money

how often do people re apply Topaz, also do you use soapy water to wash in between applications

"Soapy" water as in http://www.amazon.co.uk/Autosmart-High-Gloss-Carnauba-500ml/dp/B00EKEIYZK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437932432&sr=8-1&keywords=autosmart+car+shampoo

not Fairy liquid

Thanks, appreciated. Would agree with that, had been thinking about a DA polisher but not sure there would be a great difference. How often would you apply and assume a normal wash routine is all thats required to keep it maintained?

A beeding shot from today

Unless your paint needs correction i wouldn't think a DA was worth it but i'm no expert detailer :?
From all accounts online the Topaz seems to hold its coat for months but there's also guys who apply it after every wash , its that cheap & i find it so easy to apply & remove you may as well add coats as & when you feel like it .
Initially i applied 3/4 coats over first few weeks but haven't for about 6 weeks & it still comes up great after a wash + dry .
When you consider some of the Halfords products for similar money & also the way more expensive products this is a decent buy for all who aren't semi pros
