Automec Silicone Brake Fluid

I was chatting a chap who used to do a lot of oval racing (super stocks) with regards to some of the brake issues I have faced over the last few track days. We started chatting about brake fluid. He mentioned that by far the best fluid he ever used was a silicone based fluid... never had any problems with boiling and absolutely swore by the stuff.

This is it:

So, have any of you used it, or have experince of it it?

Thoughts please??

Thanks

im sure AP racing told me not to use silicone based fluid..... i may be wrong but im sure they did....

It's great for racing, but it's incompatible with the glycol-based stuff the current system uses, and thus will need a complete flush of the old fluid to make sure you don't have a drop of the normal stuff in the system.

The benefit is the consistency of pedal feel and resistance to boiling.

The downside is it can result in a 'spongy' pedal, and it doesn't absorb water like glycol does. So if it's not maintained properly you'll end up with water bubbles in the system (rather than being absorbed and gradually decreasing effectiveness) which in turn will compromise your braking system as the water will boil at a much lower temperature than the silicone.

Thanks for the feedback chaps some good glycol based fluid it is then...
