automatic mirrors

Hey,

Does anyone ever have any issues with their automatic mirrors? Ie not folding at right times etc?

What are they meant to do? When should they be up/down?

I asked this question a while back.
Mine are electric, but bizzarely, dont fold away automatically when I turn off the car to get out.
I fail to see the point if you have to remember to fold them in all the time!
I was pretty disapoointed with that lack of feature on my car.

They fold when you press the button only, not on ignition, if that's what you mean.

That's a bit weak. The mirrors on my friend's Alfa Spider are more integrated than that! They fold when you lock the car and unfold when you start it. On an Alfa!

(Admittedly they'll probably start folding the wrong way at some point, but at least the principle is there.)

You'll probably find on the Alfa they aren't supposed to auto fold! :wink:

lol a car i was looking at - they were folding by themselves at times?? or at least just moving up then down. Cant remember what we were doing but i think ti was just opening doors - sounds like an electrical fault.

it seemed strange to me so figured i'd ask!

Same here, plus I could see issues with trying to fold/unfold when frozen solid in the middle of winter.

Yeah, they've probably connected the soft top motor to the wrong part of the car.

When the Brera was launched my brother and I went to have a look at one in the dealership. When I went to pop the bonnet (U.S.= "hood") to have a look at the mechanicals the release handle came off in my hand. Slightly worrying.

Can a dealer not reprogramme the car key such that when you lock the car, the mirrors automatically fold up?

Those cars sound faintly like the 70's Chevy Vegas--there was something unnerving about a car that rusted in the showroom.

Had 3 alfa's in a row before my //M and loved them, although I did blow up two of them.

Would love the fold mirrors though, only option I care I'm missing.
