Automatic Headlights

So, having owned my Z4 for a week; I made the mistake of leaving my headlights on overnight, coming back to a dead battery. After a quick visit to Halfords and £50 later, I got a battery charger and all is well in the world once again.

That said, being used to modern cars, and headlights automatically turning off, it got me wondering if there are any mods/aftermarket kits to turn off the headlights after a few minutes of the ignition being turned off?

Ideally, fully automatic headlights would be amazing, but I'd imagine that would involve a bunch of sensors and probably more trouble than it's worth - but a time-delayed relay for the headlights seems like something that should be easily adapted to the car.

Mine makes a very loud beeping noise if I forget to turn the lights off. Perhaps a previous owner stopped this from working.

Of the three E85s I currently have, 2 have auto lights, so switch themselves off anyway. The third doesn't, but makes a loud beep to remind you.
I'm no coding guru, but many on here are. Perhaps it is something you need to get coded to beep?

Interesting. I assume this is something Carly could code?
Pretty sure it is an option that is present using Carly, along with only being able to open the boot with the car unlocked etc (stops you locking yourself out and the keys in the boot)

:D Anyone got a Carly in the Manchester area and free for a couple hours in the next few weeks? There’ll be a pint in it for you haha
