Automatic gear selector indicator light flickers when reverse is selected

Hi

The base of the automatic gear selector has a few orange lights indicating which gear you have selected. It seems when I select reverse I have an intermittent issue where the gear indicator light flickers.

Moving the selector around sometimes cures the problem but not always. So before I start stripping most of centre console and gear selector to pieces can anyone offer any constructive advice or any diagrams or instructions to help resolve the problem.

Oh and it’s a 2010 3.0i SE so six speed auto box.

Just ramblings thoughts……… Am I right in assuming it could just be a micro switch ??? If so, where is it ???
