Hello M People!

Anybody got any experience of these guys? Positive or negative? http://www.autohausdiagnostics.co.uk
- I'm coming close to a service
- Have used Darren Wood (Stockport) previously but I'm Yorkshire based these days and Autohaus would be (slightly) more convenient!

Any knowledge would be appreciated.

p.s. I've put it in the M section as I'm interested in 'M specific' experience and drive an MC!

Autohaus are about 600 yards from my house, I've heard good things about them but I've not used them myself. I use Andy at Atlas Autos, Monks Cross - he's worked on all my BMWs from my 1990 535i to my E86

I also use Andy/Atlas - off to see him next Friday in fact and I'll travel to York from Leeds as he is very decent. And not a bad bloke either. Can't help on Autohaus though, sorry.

Thanks Tom and Stevo... There are a few good reviews of Autohaus, but nothing all that recent or m specific that I can find.
- Andy / Atlas sounds like a good option though and nice that you've both has positive 1st hand experience

Stevo - what work is / has Andy done on your MC?

Jimmi - on the MC, not a great deal as I've only had it a year and with low miles, there's not a lot that needs doing if I'm honest. That being said, he did a once over check when I'd bough it, changed my springs for the Eibachs, code read every time I see him and he'll do my inspection 2 next year if he behaves himself in the meantime! He's doing the MOT and a few little jobs next week - not big jobs (so things like re-attaching the strut brace, code read, VANOS test, general poke around etc)
On my previous E36 Evo, he did the inspection 2, replaced the water pump and handled the other servicing. I didn't use him when I wasn't in a BMW, however. I switched to using Andy after two horrid BMW dealer experiences - think it was Sandall Wakey and Lister in Brad. Significantly cheaper, quicker, better and he won't wash the car for you!
HTH.

I have used these guys a number of times, both ex Castle BMW master techs, very good to deal with very knowledgeable and competent , they have worked on my previous M3, wife's X5 and replaced a gearbox in a 530d auto daily hack I used to own, would recommend them, another locally I have used who I would say from experience is just as good is Automotive Solutions at Poppleton, I have used these more recently and found them to be just as good,, anything I need doing I go to the most competitive of these two....

Thanks again guys, I was actually over in Manchester this morning for work so called into Darren Wood for a chat and booked with them.
- it's only an oil service so I figured may as well use them and the service history stays as only BMW or Darren Wood
- it's a low(ish) mileage car so part of me is also thinking of the 'best' option come re-sale time (if that ever happens!!!)

Good to know there are local options available for the future though.

PLOWY - were you referring to Autohaus or Atlas regarding your experiences?
