Autocar S-Drive 35iS Review

Agree on the exhaust note, on start up it's LOUD, very TVR,

Don't agree on the ride quality of the 19" wheels it's great and better than my old e85.

Don't agree on fuel economy I'm still getting an average 22 mpg (driving like miss daisy)

Agree on the 1st to 2nd slight hesitancy

My 35i is the same on startup! When I first heard it I thought it had a silencer missing! I think the 35is may be a little louder higher up the rev range (maybe). Mine certainly sounds nice.

Might find the economy gets better with age. Mines got almost 12,000 miles on now and it's doing around 29MPG. Where it suffers is in short journeys. It has dipped to 26MPG when I use it for work.

I just did 2800kms on a road trip and the gas mileage in my 35i was impressive. In town I get around 25, blended hiway and town is 28-29 and all highway is anywhere from 33 to 37 !!! Depends on the speed , 55-60mph gets much better mileage than 75 , duh! At one point in the trip I had a reading of 41mpg after 180km on the tank. I'm also averaging 3500 ft elevation so the air is a bit thinner. My pickup truck gets 18 on the highway so it's quite a nice change.... :D

It also has a nice "rumble" at 100kmh in 7th (about 2100rpm)
