Just had a new sump fitted on my auto box to stop the leak. While in there they replaced the control valve and the results are fantastic. It feels like a new gearbox so smooth. It was ok before and I didn't think there was anything wrong.
My local indy quoted £400 for the sump alone but I had it done under warranty (from dealer that sold me the car) at Bristol Transmissions and they did the valve as well for around £300. The dealer that sold me the car didn't tell me the exact cost just £300 and it was worth getting the warranty after all. I'm still not sure but in the first year I have recouped about £500 of the £1000 cost so we will see.
Anyone else with a leaking autobox get quotes form local transmission places rather than just going straight to your indy. I would not have checked and it would have cost a lot more.
