Auto Window Up not Working...

I don't think you can expect a dealer to look at a window open/close issue under warranty if you have fitted a Reinhold module. It clearly splices into the hood and window system as one of it's functions is to open and close windows with the hood, or in the instance of a hardtop open/close the windows alone.

They will just blame that.

Has any one fitted a Reinhold One Touch module and had the same problem?!

I'll remove it later to see if the problem goes away, If it does I'll just have to live without the Module!

Or blame your fitting of it, despite the fact it *should* work.

Are you 100% it is fitted as per instructions?

I'd remove it, see if everything works as expected, if so, then it's your box/fitting that is not right, not the BMW electronics/parts.

have you tried the window reset? it's happened to me a few times and this has cured it.

Andy, do you have a Reinhold fitted?

I'll retry the window reset again later...

I never had an Reinhold, but did have an eOpen on my previous Z which did not change any behaviour.

I have the Reinhold and when first fitted I broke my own cardinal rule and used Scotloks and it behaved badly. Random locking and opening of windows, etc. I then soldered the connections and it's been perfect for close to 2 years. Never interferes with window settings and never needs any reset if I remove the battery.

I'll have another play with the Reinhold and also resetting of windows!

I'll let you know how it all goes...

I have the reinhold installed on my M and the windows still work fine,

you have to re-initialize the windows,
It actually tells you how to do it in the cars manual,

Or there is a load of threads on the internet,

From what I remember,

Turn key on but don't start the engine,
bring the windows down fully, Press down again 4 times within 10 seconds,
bring the windows up fully and keep holding the switch 2 seconds after they reach the top (don't let it go the whole time)
Then after 2 seconds bring the windows down about 4 inches,
Then bring them back up and hold for another 2 seconds,

Thats it,

Sounds like a PITA but I had to do the same thing last week as my drivers side stopped the "auto up" thing and I did the above process and its all gravy now

I'll give it a go later on! Will keep you guys posted, thanks for all your comments!

Didnt know you had a reinhold module, check you connections, my bet is one is loose, my driver windows wouldnt go up unless I held my finger on the button, but this only happened after I retrofitted satnav and dislogged sometihng. checked all connections and now is fine

I'll give it all an other go later tonight and see how things go! Hopefully get it all sorted...It's just getting on my nerves cause its working just not properly LOL!

problem fixed when removing one touch module, problem didnt creep up again on fitting the module again, but now the roof doesnt come up...

seem other thread...
