Auto unlock on doors

How do I get my doors to auto unlock when I switch the engine off??

Surely this isn't something that BMW need to sort out for me, or is my car special & everyone elses does unlock after the ignition is switched off....all my other BMW's have done it from 1 series to 5?!?

Just seems weird having to press the unlock button or double pull each time to get out the car.

Yes this is something BMW or someone with the right program and cable can program. On my car it doesn't even auto lock. I need to get it programed.
On my wifes 1 series you can program it yourself using the trip computer.

Thanks - that's always what I've been used to. Why you wouldn't want the doors to unlock when you turn the engine off is beyond me!

I think you can program it so that either all doors unlock or just the drivers door does.
Thats what it does on my wifes 120D I need to get mine programed up.

I've been looking into the software and cables to do it myself but i'm unsure if it will work with the E86 Coupe as it doesn't appear on NCS Expert and the cables on ebay say they work upto 2007 but not after 2007 when BMW changed to D-Can for ODB communication?
