Auto on sports button

Is there anyway to set the sports button to automatically activate when you start the car? Why did they even give the option to turn it off!!? :?

Think Beedub had this done by ESS On his ///M when he had a whole load of other work done in his motor. Not sure what's required as I think it got lost in amongst his supercharger install

EDIT - having an auto, if I want the Sports button on and total control I need to use the paddles or stick to change gear, else it also holds the car in a lower gear than normal, which contributes to responsiveness. Can be VERY scary in town traffic if I forget it's on

Probably model dependant as well. The sport button on the M has quite a dramatic effect on throttle response (making it very unpleasant to drive in traffic IMO). On non-M's the difference between Sport on and off is much less noticeable on throttle response but of course on non-M's it also weights the steering up as well - useful at high speed, less so at low speed, hence why I think an on/off capability is better.

I just push the button as part of my start up ritual...

I had a passenger at the weekend who said - "what does that button do?". I replied "it engages warp drive  ". He actually looked as though he believed me... :?

In all honesty, the only time I wouldnt use sport mode is in town stop/start driving, where the throttle response can be a bit too much for my liking.

For hooning, its on 100% of the time :)

yes my Tune for the supercharger/management change adds, Sport button memory, meaning if i turn it on, its always off until i press it off..... removed top speed limiter and methanol injection as part of the same "function",

I treat it very much the same. First the Sport button, then the DTC.

Hehe, DTC is pressed before I hit the twisty bits. After extensive 'trials' I actually find it too restrictive. I may go for DSC and DTC off soon

I forgot about my sport button, and then hit it the other day before passing someone and got a MASSIVE smile on my face :)

I always hit the DTC and the sport button right away, i also kind of wish they could be left on.

My DTC is automatically off when I start the car?

But your DSC is on

This will get confusing for many. Soon :D

 How many times has this discussion been had ?

Read this thread before asking your next question

Yup! Key in, ignition on, sports button pressed, engine start...gentle warm up drive...then DSC pressed and all hell breaks loose
