Auto heater function problem

Was driving earlier and, first of all, thought I saw something briefly flash on/ off on the digital computer (the numeric display with the time etc). Almost out the corner of my eye and thought it was my imagination.

Imagination or not, the auto function on the heater now switches itself off. I can switch it back on, but shortly (10 seconds?) it goes off again.

I've had a search and although I've not found this issue per se, I wonder if it's the battery or a charging issue? My work journey can be quite short so it would make sense.

Any thoughts?

Could be the battery. Could be the control unit for the climate control. Charge the battery/go on a long run to rule that one out. Does the heating / cooling system work fine in all other respects? Still blows well/heats/cools?

Well, it's now fine again... go figure?

All of the controls as you suggested were working too, so I will keep an eye out for it happening again. As mentioned initially, I've had a couple of very short runs and maybe it's that
