Auto headlights

Can anyone confirm where the photocell sensor for the auto headlights is ?

Is it built into the front of the light switch?

Only mine seem to come on even in daylight.

I thought it was on the top of the windscreen, behind the rear view mirror?. I might be wrong though? Someone will come along and correct me if I am wrong. Regards.

That's correct and yes they come on during the day. Frequency of the light, not the brightness.

Thats what i thought.

So if it is up there then whats the photo cell looking thing in the light switch ?

That little light is, I believe, something to do with the brightness of the odometer. It is an interior light sensor (so I am told).

I am only repeating second-hand info here... :tumbleweed:

As csm180 says, I believe the sensor is in the windscreen as auto wiper sensors are, just in front of the rear view mirror. I am sure I have read on the forum list of all of the programmable options that the sensitivity of the auto headlight sensor can be adjusted, so presumably you could have it set to be less sensitive. Think the module you are referring to is part of the alarm system (could be wrong).

Edit. Stratts got in before I did-he is probably right.

Info is correct. I messed about with my phone torch one afternoon sitting around bored testing it out

Spot on just tried by sticking my finger over the little light and odometer faded down removed finger and it brightened up
