Auto box and track day?

Hi all. I bought a z4 2.5 automatic based on condition and price and I want to do a track day. I have heard auto boxes can overheat on the track and as we all know they really are not best thing for the track for obvious reasons but I am concerned about the durability more then anything else. A fluid change before hand maybe?

I've no real experience of autos on track days but would imagine as long as your fluid levels are right and you have enough down laps to give it and your brakes a breather, then you should be fine. I'm sure someone more knowledgable will come along soon with more advice. Good luck with it and enjoy.

I have and tyres and brakes are the week point before the box starts slowing you down too much.
Once you get the hang of using it in manual for example down shift then just let it use the limiter to change up a cog.

How many miles does your car have on it? And did you do a fluid change for the auto box at any time? I have to say looking at your thread that It looks really fun. Cant wait lol.
