After watching F1 for many years, I started watching the new stuff on Sunday - I turned it off.
It was a lack lustre affair for me.

Personally I think rather than stepping down the engine size to save fuel they should say

'How economic can we make a big engine' so rather than just downsizing we should see how frugal a v8 can become, let's be honest no one will ever want a v6 supercar with a 1.6 engine...but if they can make a v8 do 50mpg combined surely that's at least a step forward, or find a way where a v6 sounds as good as a v8/10/12 but without the use of fake speakers :P

I'll put it to bearnie should I ever meet him

On a different note, what's happened to Martin Whitmarsh. Seems a bit unfair to my untrained eyes.

Woots, when do you start and what job will you be doing, will we see you in the pit crew?

I switched off after half an hour. It was like watching lower formula facing and I was tired - fell asleep to the drone. Isn't a spectacle any more for me.

With regards to noise - they have developed these ultra efficient cars and thus the fact they are so quiet means they are wasting so little energy from the exhaust. They obviously are extracting this much energy out of the system to maintain performance. So it looks like catch 22.

According to Sky Sports F1 Bernie is "horrified" at the lack of noise and has been bending Jean Todt's ear.

Not sure that's going to help. If anything, he should leave his ear alone and try gently cupping a hand behind it.

I'll be starting 7th of April, I'll be a redbull electronic test inspection and development technician predominantly based back in Milton Keynes but there may be an element of travel  hopefully lol

Yeah Woots, all kidding aside... you'd better be really politically correct jobwise once you start there. The internet is not private ..
