Today is a sad day, I'm selling my beloved Z4m Coupe.

It is also a happy day, I'm selling it to an enthusiast and a Z4 member!

I've had a brilliant time owning this car, kept it longer than most other cars I've owned:

Sat in a new Imola Red Coupe at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2006: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20398 Thought, this is lovely... but quite a lot. 3 years later:

Found it in Bristol, a 3 hour drive. Convinced the missus to buy it with me, despite the fact she was in France and hadn't seen it. Drove over Saturday morning to test drive, had to stop on the M4 services to give them a deposit because they said someone else was coming to see it!

Got it delivered to my office, sat here excitedly all monday morning, posting in the forum. Then I realised it was due Tuesday morning :headbang: Drove the long way home on Tuesday, wasted a LOT of petrol. http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10897

Forum knowledge can be a bad thing sometimes! I discovered there was a CSL replica wheel, and with the help of my M3 CSL owning friend, discovered that Dick Lovett Bristol had ripped me off :thumbsdown: Cue a month long argument with Dick Lovett and BM customer services :headbang: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10944

Forum knowledge can also be awesome! I got my Intravee ordered and installed with the help of the brilliant pvr http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18132. I found a modified CDV valve, stubby aerial, ZHP gearknob and strut brace thanks to the forum.

I went to the Evo Triangle, Anglesey circuit (in a Caterham) and a general hoon around Wales: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13558

Tjlazer, SWMBO and I did a driver training day at Carlimits North Weald. Discovered just how well the car can handle given the right inputs! http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=18144

I went to the Bookatrack 10 year anniversary Nurburgring trackday: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20361 My 4th trip to the ring, and the first time I've not had to sit at 80mph in an MX5 up the Kesselken. Best 14mpg I've ever done in the car.

I've managed to fit (separately) 2 snowboards, and a 20" mountain bike in the back! (thanks to the instructions either here or on PH)

Today I've brought the car to work to have a last drive, fill it up with Shell Nitro and buff it up ready for the new owner. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have! :thumbsup:
 
Sorry to see you go, but old age happens to us all :poke:

I fell in love with the Z4MC when I was at the 'Ring in 2007 in my M5. Saw a lovely, GB-registered, blue (Monaco or Midnight) Z4MC with champagne leather and I was smitten.

Told everyone there with me that my next car would either be the Z4MC or a CSL.

The Z4MC won - but to be truthful I still get excited when I drive my mates CSL - and I've enjoyed every one of the 75,000 miles I've done in it since December 2008.

Couldn't imagine life without out it - and would be like loosing a testicle. In fact, I'd prefer to lose the testicle!

Luckily for me i get to collect this today - incredibly excited :)

Equally looking forward to the long drive home this evening as you must of been! ...Though with a very early start this morning, and a bit of a night out last night - a proper drive is probably off the cards until Saturday - maybe the Cotswolds can provide a decent arena!

Right, just filled it with Nitro + (feels great, probably placebo though...)

It's not raining, so still looks nice and clean... Sounding great... Guy at the Shell garage thought it was a 1 series! :D

I don't want to sell it anymore :cry:

I've devised an interesting route home for you. At least it will miss out the M25 roadworks + 50mph specs
 
another sad day, is it me or does there seem to be quite a few z4's being sold at the moment

Safely parked at home - I'll do a longer post when it's light and i can get some nice snaps in it's new habitat. Needless to say, Raify has looked after her a treat and she drives beautifully. I hope it wasn't too hard watching her drive away...

So .. the drive home? Takes a while before you get the confidence to stamp on the pedal but when you do .. you get rewarded with pure terror, excitement and jelly nerves. Can't wait to do a 'proper' drive tomorrow out to the Cotswolds, though somehow i managed to make a 1hr30 journey home take almost 3 hours... it's addictive!

Can't thank Raify and Family enough, prepped the car and gave me a lovely route home - all car purchases should be this easy :)

Hah if my drive home is anything to go by .. all over the Cotswolds! I'm staying around Brize Norton though.

... I should add to the above... It still hasn't sunk in yet!
 
Just been in the garage and saw the z4 shaped gap, sniff.

If James hadn't been such a nice bloke, the sale would have been much more painful! I'm glad the car's going to be loved and enjoyed. That has to be the easiest car sale I've ever had to do.

What next? Good question. Lots of things have popped into my head. 996 gt3, Clio v6, gt86, 370z. Whatever it is, it's going to have to be very good to beat or match the Coupe.

You'll be nr Carterton then. You're a fair bit North. Suggested hoon route home...

Get on the A40 head west a very short distance then left onto the B4425 and go into Bibury. Great roads and really "chocolate box lid" Cotswolds. Stop if you want, many do to look at the ducks and have an ice cream. Stay on that road all the way to Cirencester. If you didn't stop in Bibury and want a break, Cirencester is quite nice although a lot of it will be closed as its a Sunday

From there you'll see signs for the M4 and Swindon. The A419 is dual carriageway all the way to the M4 then you're golden to get back to London. You'd join at J15
