You will receive everything you would receive if you purchased brand new

It's on eBay here: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=301567317692

Forum price: £100 posted

Any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Cheers

I'm very interested, but while researching the MediaBridge I came across this forum post that says "Great as long as you don't want to listen to the in-car radio, that's it's main downfall."

This sounds like you can't listen to the radio with the MediaBridge installed. Was it like this in your Z4?

Thanks.

I have never had that issue, I've always been able to listen to the radio, CD's and also the bluetooth & aux from the mediabridge, the mediabridge definitely doesn't remove radio functionality

Thanks

You can listen to the radio, however once you do this bluetooth and all other functionality of the media bridge disappears. You have to switch it back to the mediabridge input on the head unit again. It's not that much of a faff, whether that's a deal breaker for you I don't know.

I can see why you'd have to reselect the MediaBridge (with the Mode button?) in order to use its media playing functionality - that's really no different from the OEM CD player or changer.

What about the hands-free phone functionality? Is that only available when you're listening to the MediaBridge? How are incoming calls handled if you're listening to the radio? I suppose assuming that the phone functionality will be much the same as the built-in Bluetooth connection I've had on more recent BMWs, but I'm beginning to wonder if I'm expecting too much.

Correct, with the mode button

If I'm honest with you I can't remember how they're handled, however as someone who was on the phone hands free in the Car via the mediabridge multiple times per day I never had any issues with it, I found the mic was clearer than the bmw bluetooth one.

there's a few YouTube videos about the kit, may be with having a watch if you need more info

Forum price is the same as eBay price? It's actually cheaper to purchase off eBay by a few pence!

I have one of these in my Z4M and find it excellent. I keep an old 160Gb iPod in the glove box permanently set to "shuffle" and get the ID3 tags showing on the radio display.

The phone also works well with it, although I've only tried it once or twice (I don't often tend to use a phone while I'm driving).

One tip for whoever buys this - make sure that it's running the latest (currently 7114) firmware. You can download it from this link - there's also a changelog available on this link.
