So I have a 2008 Z4MR with S609 Sat Nav Professional, S676 Hi Fi Speaker System, S692 Preparation, BMW 6-CD Changer I-Bus but no bluetooth.

I would like to be able to stream music etc from my iphone (and charge it too.) I had looked at a new head unit but would really like to keep the current fascia.

The 2 solutions I have found are the Grom and the Dension Gateway 300.

2 questions:

1. does anyone have experience of either of these units? How good are they? With my spec does the unit sit in the boot? and

2. does anyone know of a car audio specialist who has fitted either unit please? I am in the West Midlands but independent car audio specialists are hard to find! So, anywhere in the UK will be fine :-)

I'm sure this has been discussed many times before but any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

unfortunately no experience with either here. But you can keep the fascia, and simply get a bluetooth device that fits into your cigarette port. Basically the device masks the sound of a radio station with media from your phone. Best part, you can find one with USB spots, for a charger!

I can recommend this, as a highly effective cheap and cheerful solution, worked a treat for me.

I have a similar Bluetooth FM transmitter. Does the job very very well. Just be mindful that all your s**t is being broadcast on a radio frequency, so if you're on the phone to your best friends wife talking about your wife's boyfriend, that stuff is being broadcasted free for all to listen in nearby.

The range is fairly short though.

I have SatNav - bought a bluetooth 5 adapter like this - invisible, easy to fit. Works flawlessly:
