do you know of any local shops that may sell it? halfords, screwfix etc..?
You can try them and dealership parts depts (Volvo always used to carry it) - alternatively, I linked to some through Amazon in my original How-To

Take a flame to the electrical tape, will shrink it down a little.
Or better still, remove it and replace with heatshrink tubing

Thanks Guys, i now know what this sleeve thing is that i got with the Morels - you get allot of things with the Morels..

The Audison, came with just the speaker - not even the front grills.. lol

Neil - @ Sound evo tomorrow, Spoke to Faz, dont think they have done a Z4 install before...

I wanted to know where they will put the amp and clean sweep? as i think i saw a pic of these installed in the boot under the carpet just on top of the battery...

Any idea's? as i dont was it left in the boot loose on display...?

Found this, not sure if the Clean sweep would fit there aswell

Sub Options:

Second hand @ £120 but will cost me £20 in fuel and 2 hours to get it tonight

New @ £180 from Sound Evo - at the time with my install

Really thought i would do the sub later, as money is short, but the Morels and Audison are not producing much bass when connected to the head unit - not sure if this will change much with the Amp? as i was hoping the 6.5" (mid-bass) would produce bass lol

Some what annoyed!

Made the trip to sound Evo - turns out the power connectors for the Cleansweep are missing, and checking the original AV forums add, they ar enot in the picture..

I put my hands up, my mistake should have checked..

then sound evo said they will not work on the car for the £150 that was agreed with me in Jan and again last month...they want £200! :headbang:

I had to leave a £40 deposit..and get the connectors..costing £20 each (need 2)

Anyone know were i can get these connectors from cheaper?

keep up the good work and looking forward to the end result...... my progress will be delayed for a little while as i managed to buy some Aero skirts yesterday  so im gonna get them sprayed and fitted next :driving:

will use this as a guide when i finally get round to doing the audio install

AM FUMMING!

Was booked in for an install @ 1pm, and 8:30pm yesterday, finally got the kit powered up..and my amp blew up...i finaly got home @ 10:30pm!!

The installer, calibrated the Cleansweep - the amp did not have its power cable connected (as he forgot) (the rear speakers were producing noise as these are connected to the head unit.

Then power connected, and the amp turned on, but no sound worked.

So he turned the ignition off and back on, and the amp blew with s**t oads of smoke! :headbang: :headbang:

They said the clean sweep sent a high voltage signal to the amp and this caused the issue - the expected response as i bought the kit second hand.

The £300 amp came from the US - any one know or can help..

Sound EVO suggested, i leave the amp to get repaired and bin the clena sweep - they have however kept both to send to JL for a disgnosis - but i would really not trust the results..

HELP

not getting much response on this forum...anyway..final post just an update..

Amp doctor diagnosed the amp as blown as expected - cost £100 to repair.

The clean-sweep tested out fine.

So looking like a cabling fault to me.

This has just been one big headache!

Small update....after waiting 2 weeks for Sound Evo to fit me in again!!

no other installer wanted to take on the unfinished job without charging £££'s

I paid £25 odd to Gorden @ the Amp Doctor to diagnose the Cleansweep - Found not to be faulty

SoundEvo - changed the story, (initially they said my clenasweep is faulty and blew my amp) - now cleansweep is not faulty and it was infact my front speakers that sent high signals to the amp and blew it up! (just when i asked for money back as i had paid to get the clean sweep diagnosed as they said it was faulty!

They also said they would rather install a Audio Control @ £130 - and said they will run this off the rear speakers as fronts caused the original issue - i think the installer did not do this..

Anyhow..

I had sound...for about 10 mins..then the amp went up again in smokes!!!

they put in one of there 4 channel amps and it seemed to work ok..so looking like an amp issue.. just not happy with the way its been delt with - its been nearly 2 months i think and still no music in the car

Amps gone back to the amp doctor again, as they had warrantied it after the last repair..

Finally i think 2 months later all sorted - Amp went back for repair to Gordon.

Did not bother going back to the Muppet's in watford..found a local guy and paid him little to get the amp in and tuned...Had i found the reviews of them before as i have now, i would not have gone there.

Have a cleansweep that i need to sell..

Sounds awesome - have a slight issue were the speaker is too close to the door so need to push this back using washers but not sure if this will work as i still need to work on seeing if i can push the panel out using washers..

So will need tuning again once i get this sorted.
