Audible pop

Does your Z4 do this? When you go to start the car, does the very first click of the key produce an audible pop through the speakers? Also after turning the engine off, that very last turn of the key (the one that lets you pull the key out)is there once again an audible pop through the speakers? It doesn't really matter if the audio system is left on or off for this to happen.

I'm thinking the pop I hear is the amp turning on and then it's the amp turning off. Maybe the amp is always activated but the preamp only comes on when you hit the on button. :?

reading you post on the windshield/windscreen and guessing this has only just started, then get the dealer to fix, as if it still working now, sure it wont be soon, or when the warranty runs out.
 
Before my car went out of warranty, I had the same problem. The radio would make a loud pop through the speakers when I started the car. In my case, it did not do it if I had the radio turned way down before I shut the car off. The dealer replaced the amp and the noise went away. Here it is 2 years later and the pop has come back. that tells me alot about the BMW stereo system. My Nissan that is over 12 years old has never done this!
 
I get no audible pop. I leave everything on too. Sometimes I even leave the music set to an eardrum shattering level. Of course the radio is smarter than me and turns it down to a believable level when I start it up. But yeah, no pop.
