Porsche's PDK is a dual clutch box whereas Audi's R-Tronic is an automated single clutch manual and much slower to swap cogs.

Wouldnt expect it to have such a big difference though. :o

thats is the only video i have seen with such a big difference? every one ive seen has been close. as much as i love the 911i would still choose the R8 over one i think.

What is that colour called of the 911? Looked at the new 911 ( ) but did not see it ...

I've got a big 911 itch coming on,don't know when, but one day....................................................really fancy a Turbo, but in reality couldn't afford to run the thing. :headbang:

I had a little play in my ///M with a V8 R8 on a...err..."derestricted" motorway, and it wasn't hugely impressive. Whilst they could keep up with me, they couldn't pass me until I pulled into the middle lane and slowed down, and then they couldn't lose me. I'm sure a V10 would have left me in their dust...

I think part of the R8's problem is the gearbox, in the video you can see the 911 pull away markedly on the R8's first gearchange, then again on the second, and so on.
I've tried the R8 auto-gearbox and I found it slower than the Porsche PDK

Your car does look good though

OK, let's blame it on the R-tronic. :-D
Glad I have a manual transmission! :driving:

Not saying this is the case here, but I guess a lot can be dependant on drivers as well. I am absolutely convinced that on a track many drivers would be able to keep up with me, or drive faster than me with less powerful cars, because they are more skilled drivers...
