Not sure quite what it is yet, roadster or targa, but whatever it is, it does look a mile better than the R8 coupe. No sideblade and the side profile is much more resolved, I actually quite like it now.

Nah I think the coupe looks weird from the side, definitely half-finished, but great from the back and front. Like it's been stretched or something.

I see what you both are saying but it's the side blade coupled with the front and back bumper that really makes the car distinct from the rest.

If I had that type of money to throw on a car I would get 2. Maybe something along the lines of an Audi A5 (work) and a Caterham R500 (pleasure).

I like it very much.

Audi's R8 is about to get another model in the form of the R8 Spider/ Convertible http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convertible next year.

For those of you that were waiting for more R8 models your moment is almost here. Very soon the R8 will be offered with two gas engines (V8 & V10), a diesel (V12), and convertible or targa versions.

It is being rumored that the Spider will have a targa setup with removable panels rather than a conventional soft top or folding hardtop.

Are you lot blind this car is sex on wheels. :fuelfire:
Audi!! who make some of the blandest car ever, came up with this WOW

I like it too :D

Im with wondermike though, the side slashes in anything other than body colour just looks as though they got fed up painting it - or ran out of paint :P

It might just be me but the R8 simply leaves me cold, I simply don't get what the fuss is :?
Given the choice between an R8 or a GT-R, I'd take the GT-R any time, and they can keep the change. R8 is seriously overpriced.
