Audi A7

So I've been eyeing up the Audi A7 as an alternative to the 5 series. Had a look at one last week with a view to trading the e89 in the next year or so once the A7s prices have fallen a bit more... Its the only car that I've thought, actually, it has all the right bits to be a) a long term car and b) have some style with it. I particularly liked the fact it was roomy without being saloon feeling, its so low.

Then I started reading on the internet, and I forgot what I'd been through with a 1st year/1st gen model. Lots of issues with the A7, mostly electrical, some mechanical etc. Lots of very annoyed people.

So... perhaps I'll stick with the 5 series tourer aim after-all, perhaps get a pre-lci where they've worked out all the bugs and not introduced more...

As an A5 owner I hate the look of the A7! A bloated and cartoonish version of its smaller sibling. The 5 series is a big old beast too, but at least it's in proportion. The Touring is particularly nice. Audi are even less generous than BMW when it comes to extras, so watch out for full electric seats and auto dipping rear view mirrors etc.. if you're leaning toward the Audi.

The Audi A7 is absolutely stunning. Far more interesting than anything else they make, bar the R8.

I really would love an RS7, but it's a few years until they're down in price.

ETA: As with any car though, it does have its ugly angles:

The A7 does look well enough but friends who own the 4 rings don't tell me good things & never having owned any AUDI for the forseeable will stay away .
The biggest gripe i have with the brand is the marketing has been second to none . Almost epic .
They took a relatively new brand & muscled in on BMW & Mercedes then not content with that managed to get the consumer to part with more money for similar products than the supposed better opposition  it was a masterstroke especially when you factor in they have been VW owned since the late 60's
get yourself the Passat cc & buy a ZMwith the difference http://www.motorpoint.co.uk/VehicleAdvert/Volkswagen/Passat%20Cc/390993

saw one today coming back from the dealers and on the motorway cruising it looks super comfy.
