AUC Warranty v Insured Warranty

Currently have AUC Warranty. I want to extend it another year. But when I logon to the BMW website it says I need to get an "Insured Warranty". When I asked N.Oxford BMW they told me they could no longer sell me a warranty - it is "now all done centrally".
Any views on the Pros & Cons of this Insured Warranty. Is it worth going for? Or is it a right b*ggers muddle when it comes to making a claim?
 
Insured Warranty is the best :thumbsup: . All claims are done by dealer and you have to do nothing. All my previous BMW had Insured Warranty with no excess payable.
 
If it's the warranty supplied by BMW it is very good, much better than the like of warranty direct etc, and only pennies more.

So I just paid for the BMW Comprehensive Insured Warranty. Here is the breakdown:
£520 = 12 Months. Starts when the current AUC Warranty expires. Includes UK + Europe Breakdown and Recovery.
Notes: If you don't go for the Extended Breakdown i.e. UK + Europe etc. You can save £78.
If you wish to pay an excess e.g. £100 or £250 then you will save a few further quid on the policy.

->Just as a comparison. My daily drive is a VW Touareg. Similar cover costs over £1000! So whilst the Z4 is not a 4x4 etc I think the (BMW) policy is good value. And yes they will cover the springs. :thumbsup:
 
Yes they cover springs, but only upto 60k miles. After this point the put some things down to wear and tear, which although is probably fair enough, it's not made very clear as to what is and what isn't covered.

Very simple to claim from though, dealer does all the work and you do nothing. Comes up on their computer when you book the car in that it's covered by the warranty.

Also worth noting, if you are near 60k miles it's better to start paying monthly rather than yearly, reason for this is, once you are past 60k miles the cost increases dramatically, however if you start paying monthly before 60k miles, you continue to pay the same amount even when you pass through this milage point.

And you can stop paying monthly when you decide to sell your car, the cover just expires when the monthly payment is cancelled.
 
Good to know re: 60k miles and the increasing costs. I did ask the chap who I spoke to about the springs. He put me on hold whilst he spoke with BMW. BMW told him that they would replace the springs - (sneakily) they never mentioned the mileage part.

Because broken springs cause MOT failure.
