Just a heads up - I went to see this over the weekend (before it was listed) and although I cannot be certain, it would appear the front end had been resprayed. On the inside of the wings there appeared to be overspray, all the I've seen rest seemed to be clean in this area. I cannot 100% guarantee this, but I thought I would point this out to anyone else who may be interested in it - the front left headlight is also out of alignment, which suggests the worst.

I have completely gone off BMW AUC after thoroughly checking some of the cars they are retailing, you're better off buying privately, saving some money, and buying a comprehensive BMW warranty yourselves with the saving you've made.

This one has been in an accident for sure but repaired well, pity they didn't blend the paint well. I found the bodyshop receipt in the folder... I imagine the trader has removed that now though. http://www.chartwells.net/ were the repairers, and they are good.
Other bad news, the clutch clunked loudly whenever operated.

A bad weekends attempt at trying to get an M whilst being able to chop my 320d in :(

Anyone know anyone privately who may want a 320d MSport (immaculate) in px for a decent M Coupe (or Roadster)?

Sytner may have just resprayed the front end to tidy up the stone chips that these cars (especially in dark colours) are prone to. I've just had the same done to mine for example at a BMW dealer. That doesn't excuse them of the p*** poor job of doing it of course but perhaps you can use that in your favour to negotiate if there has been no accident damage and just a cosmetic tidy-up. I would email them and ask them to state in writing why the front-end had been resprayed.

I had my passenger door resprayed as someone had left a nasty parking scratch on it.

The dealer recommended chartwell to me... They wanted £1200... To remove the door and repaint it. All my other quotes were under £600... So chartwell are one of the dearest... So either shows no expense spared or it was an insurance job!!

Remove the door?
yep!! Apparently thats standard practice in the more expensive places!

The place i went to in the end just did in situ, covered surrounding panels.

I enquired about the cost of getting the a chip on the door sorted and was quoted £700, as if you do it to BMW bodyshop spec, then (allegedly) you have to paint the whole door and replace the door seals/membranes too.

Got the local 'chipmaster' place to do it for £60, and it still looks great after 3 years.

That's not standard practice.
If the door was damaged bad enough that it had to be removed, there is no excuse not to replace the door.

Replace door seals? Thats when you start getting water leaks and creaks and all sorts.
Their "spec" is not always what it's cracked up to be. :D

BMW said the same thing... Door off, paint, replace seals.
