I'm looking at an AUC Z4 from a BMW franchise.....Just wondering what reduction on the windscreen price or upgrades ?( five year servicing)? could I get thrown in. What deal did other AUC people get on here?
Everytime I walked into the showroom, showing real interest in buying I was offered £500 off.
I waited 2 months and got £1500 off my list. Others were pushed by the dealer to only get £300 off the car.
It depends on how much play they have in the car. With mine I know they got the car for £4k under the initial list cost and had to spend about £2k on parts etc.
Hmmmm....Interesting so far. Car is less than a year old with just over 1k miles. looks competitively priced against all other dealers but I haven't yet asked anything about the car.
I told them with mine what I wanted to put down ontop of it, and said I wouldn't do a deal otherwise. They went away and came back saying they could do it
I got 1250 after 3 days of haggling initially offered nothing then 300 then 750 . Stated I was a serious buyer and would be comitting if the right deal could be done. It was also end of March so salesman keen to meet his target. I paid a bit more because it was the main dealer buy the car is great nick and has a warranty for the year. At no time did the dealer put no real pressure on me and answered all of my questions and was pragmatic when I was negotiating.
Got my e89 3.0 for £10.5k with trade in of a 10 plate scirocco with 17k on the clock, left it right to the last day of the month, after haggling for a week over the phone it was listed at £29,950. On the day got another £500 off plus £399 service pack. Then just for the cheek of it i tried to get the ipod lead (bmw `s is the only one to work correctly), said i`d buy it but the spares dept was closed so the guy pulled one from a display car and gave to me free, I`m quite happy with the deal i got. !
Remember that if you're trading in anything they can sell they'll make a profit on that too, so all good negotiation. In their language, it's all about the cost to change, and that lets them mess about on the paperwork with what they gave you for yours against what they sold their car for.
Another question I wanted to ask was with the 'deals' which were available on the new Zs on finance is there a clause preventing you paying off the loan early i.e. getting the good deal on finance then paying it off after a month opr two so the extra interest is not paid so in effect the car is cheaper by far? (I don't know whether i have explained myself well enough here!!). With the up to 8K dealer contribution buying second hand doesn't seem quite so lucrative?
I know the deals have stopped now...just interested :?
