AUC 108 refurb under warranty ??

Has anyone managed to get their 108's repaired under the AUC warranty?

I bought my car at the beginning of April. Part of the appeal was that the car had clearly had all four wheels refurbed, a set of new tyres and a service as part of the pre sale prep.

The cars has been washed weekly by hand and as part of this weeks clean I noticed a laquer chip on one of the spokes that is about the size of a penny piece.

Clearly my expectation as a customer is that this level of damage shouldn't be evident within six weeks and around 1,000 miles of light usage. I'd also expect to be fit for purpose their previous refurb should have lasted significantly longer. And as such I will pursue this with the supplying dealer. However I'd be interested in previous forum experience of these situations.

If you have had the car six weeks and the dealer sorted the refurb then it should be covered. Otherwise you I'll struggle.

Strange for lacquer to chip on the spoke, it's usually the rim that goes. Would definitely pursue warranty repair.

Take it up with the dealer after such a short time. In the past many members had warranty paid refurbishment of rims, mainly 108's, but I think they were from new.

Agree with Adamski - the stars rarely if ever show corrosion damage. It's almost always the rim lip that goes or the inside surface of the wheel.

Looked again it is on the rim rather than the spoke ..not on the edge either ..will pop across to them tonight after work ..I'm pretty sure they'll try to wriggle but I'm pretty much wriggle-proof :)

cant they argue wear and tear and the chip could of been caused by a stone during general driving??

..... just like getting a stone chip on the bonnet

all sorted ..they initially tried to wriggle based on age of vehicle ..I explained that that to my mind the vehicle's age has no relevance to the lack of longevity / quality of the recent refurb and my expectation was that they resolve the issue ..they agreed to repair it foc and its booked in for next week ..I'm very pleased with the outcome ..hopefully it will last better this time as I expect any further repairs will cost me.
