Hello all,

I have an urgent request, I am picking up my Z4 on Sat and I want to have a garage check the car before I buy it (bought a Nissan 350Z that was bad in 08, hand been damaged on underside and had bodged repairs, managed to get money back) Anyway, I need a place to spend half an hour up on a ramp give it a good once over and make sure its all in great condition. I tried BMW but they are fully booked, The car is in Longton, and I am going to the bank in Chorley (both a bit south of Preston), so anywhere in that area is idea, but closer to Longton the better!

Any garage will do, ideally it will be somewhere that you have been before or you know someone that has been before. Obviously id have rather gone to BMW but I guess any machanic worth his job should be able to stop a skip or a well looked after car.

The motor im lookin at has full BMW service history and extended BMW warranty so im not expecting any problems but you never know!!

If your not from Preston area but know someone who is, id really like it if you could drop them a test.....

Not a million miles from you bud, only been there for a couple of 318s I had, great service but a bit basic, he loves BMs though!

Rather go there than A N Other mechanic... ?

Looks ideal but a bit far away! any idea of one closer, dont care if its not BM specialist?
 
Woodmans at Blackpool, very close to the M55 junction 4? My experiences of Bowker Preston arent good but the Mini lot rave about Woodmans, they come from miles away for servicing and parts.

Too far?

Mate, that garage is only 25 mins from Longton - If Bowkers or Halliwell Jones can't help you, I'm sure 'Fred an his shed garage services' in Walmer Bridge will tell you what you want hear.

Its not that it is too far, more that it I am on a very tight time frame and its in the wrong direction of where I need to go after

I agree with Peddy, I suggest you get an RAC or AA inspection done, if you have any concerns about the car then it's money well spent.
