Today a heady 16 deg no less 8) top down, country roads, I really wish I lived up in the Lake District though!

Ps in the middle of drying the car off this morning the door mirror glass just dropped out into my hand! Lucky catch, how the hell it hadn't fallen out before now is beyond me - there didn't seem to be anything holding it in place! the rubber backing had come completely away. I was going to stick it back in with silicone sealant, anyone else had this?

Car looke lovely. Didn't get a chance to take mine out today. Hopefully going to make up for it tomorrow.

Silicon is fine, I used similar for mine.

I need to check mine then, on my last drive I thought I saw the passenger glass vibrating when trying to use it.

 superb, I need to book me and the missus into a hotel up that way as it's 5+ hours, but worth it!

Looks like you had a great day! Another is on the way...

I had a similar problem with the wing mirror glass. You're lucky to have caught it whole! I used silicon sealant on mine which has withstood some low and high temps successfully.

Do it now Tony! Mine was being held in by sheer luck, no adhesive, nothing, one speed bump and....!

Cheers I think that may be a better long term fix

My wing mirror fell off over Xmas and got one of these from eBay that was delivered the next day (28th Dec)...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-02-08-driver-side-heated-wing-door-mirror-glass-/290804756388?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ABMW%7CModel%3AZ4&hash=item43b5506fa4

They do both left and right hand side and even though the listing states the connections for the heated element is on the wrong side but it wasn't on the one I was sent.

Fitting is also easier as once you have twisted the old one off the motor with screwdriver (trying not to scratch the wing mirror casing), this one just clips onto the face of the motor and the fit is solid.

P.S. Took time out on Sunday to clean my Zed too for the first time since winter with my new DA Polisher
