At last! A Z4 forum!!

I found this forum a few weeks ago when I was searching for a Z4 M with CSL alloys. This week my CSL wheels and tires arrived. The perfect opportunity to register.

I'm from the Netherlands. I'm a huge forum-fan. Drove 2 blue MINI Cooper S's (R53 and R56) before I found this beautiful Z4M Roadster from 2006. Always have been a member at thé Dutch MINI-forum (http://www.newminiclub.nl).

I am always searching for cars. Big fan of convertible's, but because of the beautiful weather in Holland never bought one. In April this year I found my ultimate dream-machine. The Z4M Roadster! 14 days later she was parked (with import-license plate) in our garage.

I didn't like the standard alloys to much, so immediately I began searching for a 'factory-look' alternative. Found the beautiful "M Cross spoke 163" (also known as CSL wheels) they also use on the E46 M3 CSL. The car also needed a bit of lowering/stiffer suspension for the rear of the car. After I found member "sixspeed " and read his stories I ordered the nice KW Clubsport 3-way coil over suspension kit. After just one week I already got the suspension kit. A few hours later and help from a good friend, the kit was on the car.

On July 24th I bought a set of CSL alloys with tires from a guy on E-bay. 10 weeks later they arrived. One alloy was damaged, 2 tires where as good as worn (less then 4 mm, advert said 6 to 7 mm) and 1 tire was plugged (I'm not insured when I drive with these kind of tires). Made a deal with the seller. He replaced the damaged alloy and gives me another tire without a plug. Last Monday I finally got the wheel and tire back. The tire he wrapped around the alloy had a plug... So I had to buy 2 new front- and 2 new rear tires. After all it is better to pay somebody at BMW €500,- euros’ for a chassis number then to buy a set of wheels (with tires) from this E-bay member...

Yesterday my tire-guy wrapped new (and SAFE) rubber around the brand new alloys. Fitted them on the car and this is the result:

Since a few weeks I have a problem with the car. The EML light, the DSC light and the brakes light went on. The dealer reset the system, but before I was home the lights went on again. 3th of December they are going to search for the problem. Maybe somebody already had this experience, so I will search this forum for it!

I hope to learn, and post, a lot here! Thanks!

M-Roadster, longest first post ever :D

I prefer the standard 18" wheels and with the lowered suspension in this pic they look great :sweetheart:

Great looking car and welcome to the forum.

Just my opnion, but I actually prefer the OEM wheels to the replacemnts, but such things are personal choice and if you like them then they are great.

That is what I find cool about these cars, you can make them 'your own'. 8)

what csl mean
Read that CSL stand for Coupe Sport Lightweight. But in this case it's about the alloys. M Cross spoke 163 (also known as 'CSL wheels').

Welcome from another new(ish) owner and new member. Nice car, great colour.

Hope you have better luck keeping your fuel gauge at that 'nearly full' level than I'm having :D :driving:

Your new wheels look absolutely stunning, beautiful car.Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the nice posts and comments! I'n glad that you have an own opinion about the wheels and lowering. :D

What catches my eye is the huge number of 3,0's, M Coupes and M Roadsters active on this forum. Very cool! 8) Everybody has theire own 'mods' done to the car, M6-wheels, lowering, strut braces, you name it! A very active forum.

Age was almost 2 years. Only done 7500 km (about 4600 miles). The guy who owned it before was a pilot for Lufthansa. After he got it for 3 months (as a secondairy car) he had to be operated because of spinal problems (don't know the English word for it). After he got out of the hospital he found out that the car had too stiff suspension and that is why he sold it. If it is true or not, I don't know, but the car is OK.

And now with the wheels... :trampoline: I love it!!
