Why are Aston Martins so awesome to look at?

On a route I travel every Wednesday and Saturday in the evening I have been watching the building of a new Aston Martin showroom. It's now complete (all white and stainless steel!) and they have just placed 4 new Aston's in the showroom. It isn't open yet, but they have subdued lighting on the cars in the showroom.

I have just been sat in my Z4 outside said dealership for over 1/2 hour just staring at them!!I even forgot to get out and take a pic with my phone!! Some cars just do that to you!! I think, at that moment in time, I would have sold my house, girlfriend and parents to own one!! :P

Mind you, having said that Aston Martins are more common near me than Z4 coupés!!

Totally agree with you there. Nearly all of their cars look stunning. I am a fan of the DB7 and have been since it first came out.

Cost of ownership is likely out of this world

The AM's are not so much great cars as they are just stunningly beautiful to see, to touch, and of course to HEAR. That Vantage V8 is so well-proportioned, so perfectly sized, so jewel-like in every way, and it makes just an absolutely intoxicating sound. I fell in love with that car from 30 feet away, and it just got better and better the closer I got. Then when I fired it up and romped the GO pedal a few times, I nearly....well...let's just say it was REALLY good... :D :D :D
I couldn't spend the money for one, unless I just had buckets of money to burn, but oh...what a nice dream it is!

I had been tempted by one for a while, but the reliability is so poor that I have been put off by it. The DB9 is not much better and has its fair share of problems as well.

TxMike, V8 Vantage I like too, although I've never lusted after an Aston though, like I have with some cars, and TBH I'd rather have a Nissan GT-R :?

This a is a nice review

Agreed. Wouldn't have one for the money, but they look, feel, and sound "oh so gorgeous". Have to agree with the original post title...they got that design just so right!

They are gorgeous but I can honestly say I have never wanted one. Its pretty strange, I love the look and sound of the cars I just dont have that oh so important desire!

Not so strange, I feel that way about a lot of cars - I admire them, am even impressed by some of them, but don't feel the urge to actually own one. As I get older and more financially secure, more cars come within my range of possibilities and I realize how few of them I'd spend my own money on. Having scratched my Porsche itch, I don't think I'll ever own another. There's none of the Ferrari range I'd own, though I'll likely pay to rent a 360 Modena this year as a present to myself.

The AM V8 Vantange - that I'd own, though the original Gallardo is my first pick for a supercar buy (I don't like the new revisions). Once I'm in my 50s and looking for something fun but more comfy and mellow, I wouldn't be averse to a black/tan Bentley Continental GT. 8)
