Assisting the roof sometimes

Hi,sometimes when I haven't used the car for a while I have to give the roof a nudge from the inside because it seems stuck to the top of the windscreen bit. Once I have done this it goes down no problem in the correct time, around 10 seconds and comes up no problem then when I try it again it's fine. It has done this a few times now and again since I have had the car which is almost a year. Fitted a gap tec mod but don't want to use it in case the roof doesn't open and it burns the motor out or something else major. Has anyone else had this issue?

Open the roof about 12 in and give the catches a little squirt of 3 in 1.At the same time clean the roof area below the rear window.This area is not normally visible and you get a build up of crap there which ends up blocking the roof drains.
Use the gap tech as its an excellent mod.

Mine does this occasionally too, the passenger side is the catch that sticks slightly and a tap from the inside quickly sorts it.
As said already a bit of lubricant on the catches will sort it out, also it's worth doing the pivot points on the hood frame at the same time just to keep it running smooth.
