Asking price thoughts please

Hey,
The M40i is up for sale as another issue I have is it looks like I'll have to vacate my workshop next year due to the landlords unexpectedly selling up.... :( So I'll need the funds to hopefully buy somewhere in time.

Car is March 2021 on 1000 miles, black sapphire over red interior with all 4 tech packs and gloss black trim. It's on @ £51,500 ono as I'm hoping someone might want one now with all the kit including the phone charging.

Too ambitious price wise...?

Thanks lovelies.

I'd be sending an email to all the BMW dealers I could identify with the spec and asking them to bid. I sold my 718 Boxster back to the original dealer, but only because they matched the highest offer I'd gotten from an indy.

Likewise my DD Corsa, Arnold Clark gave me more for it than was feasible to advertise it for privately. Dealers are desperate for good second hand stock at the moment.

Sorry you are having to sell.

Generic email to as many as you can find, can't remember the broker I used that got the highest quote from an indy unfortunately, if I do I'll let you know but I found it by googling.

Just let them know it is definitely for sale for the highest offer. It was actually more hassle for me to take my 718 into Glasgow OPC than let the indy buyer collect it on a trailer.

I was going to suggest the same as Scuba, dealers can get them and I’ve just responded to a post of a new member saying their 20i has been delayed by months.

There’s some on BMWs AUC same age as yours with 5-10k mileage at £55k.

What about Swizzle/Motorway with a healthy reserve set so totally within your control?

Sorry to hear about the workshop situation, you’re just not catching a break at all just now.

Andy

I expect with demand outstripping supply it shouldn't be on the market for long. There must be a dealer out there with a customer wanting this model who is looking at a long wait.

Good luck and hopefully you can get a replacement as soon as your current situation is resolved.

Shame you're having to sell John.
Thought you were thinking of selling the M at one point,or is that staying?

Not ideal that you have to move your business premises, bit hopefully it all goes well

Was about to suggest swizzle or motorway, I am sure that will move quickly to a dealer

Just a same it has to be sold

Sorry you have to sell.

Price you’re asking is outrageous in normal times, but frankly in todays climate you should get that or maybe even more.

Good luck with the sale.

Sorry you are having to sell so soon. :(

Just hope you get a good price and wish you well sorting out some new workspace.

Many thanks all.

I totally agree with Ori the ask is too high but he makes the valid point and all anyone is getting is a cheaper car than the dealers would sell it for but except for a fancy showroom and a latte.....surely saving 5k is worth that along with
my enigmatic smile....

Problem is, very few of Joe public will drop £50k on a car privately.
Never know though, only need one buyer.

Cheers Craig.
The M will be for sale springtime, the boat is going up in a few days too, I can't get a mortgage on a property as I don't have 3yrs of books due to being off with various health issues so I'm recouping cash this way. The only thing I'll keep is the new to me 35is which is a beauty so I can't complain at all.

Yes I get that Scuba it's quite true but I sold my Boxster this way and as you say it only needs one buyer. I'll see how it goes Nd what the dealers, swizzle offer etc. No great hurry so time is there to sit it out really.

Good position to be in as you have time, best of luck and hope it's all worthwhile for the new premises.

Shame you're having to sell the boat and everything, but as you say, still having a 35is is not as bad.

Maybe being slightly biased but at least you are displaying good sense and good taste by keeping the best.
