Ashtray console removal?

As above.

My ashtray lid won't stay shut and seems to be loose/faulty.

How do I remove this console to inspect the ashtray lid mechanism?

Lift out the tray and under it is a Philips screw,undo the screw and lift the ashtray out .It comes out at an angle,lift it from the gearstick end.Next unplug the cig lighter.
You might find a small coin in the mechanism .

Although I am able to close the lid on my ashtray cover, I found a quarter under the tray in mine.

Must happen more often than I imagined...
 
What should be under the radio,above the roof switches.I have a large hole I found when removing previous owners spare wiring
 
Same with my lid. Opened it up and found two small cogs and a plastic pin had come loose. Refitted them and it works a treat..
