As winter looms cTek...

Hi

As winter approaches I will definitely be using the Zed less, does anyone have a link to the easiest way to connect a battery conditioner at all? I've read it can be connected via the bonnet or boot? I couldn't find anywhere inside the bonnet then struggled to remove the top of the battery case in the boot (I blame the fact it is tight and dark in the garage).

Any help would be much appreciated

The live connection is on bulkhead slightly to right of centre behind a small plastic flap , the negative is on passenger strut tower top ( its a hex bolt head )

I use the CTEK 12v outlet cable extension lead and charge the car through the cigarette lighter socket which works brilliantly on my Coupe. I route the cable through the boot and simply leave the boot hatch resting nearly closed.
I've charged this way for years and am still on my original battery with the car..

I a lead permanently connect to the battery terminals in the boot. Just disconnect boot light

MY CTEK is connected using the patch cable directly to the battery. You can also close the boot fully and lock the car.

The cable is fine as there is plenty of give in the seal.

I don't think you need to do that - the boot light seems to go off after few minutes automatically even with the boot lid open.

I’ll let you know how my Solar charger looks after my //M during the winter months... next year

Its just had a 6 week test & span up strongly... fingers x the trickle over shorter days connected through dedicated battery leads will keep it healthy, with a couple of warm ups during the winter months.

Went for solar (a) because no garage power (b) didn’t think a perm charge was as good as an intermittent charge

Many thanks for this - much appreciated.

The CTEKs are intelligent chargers (as are a number of others) - they don't keep charging the battery all the time but monitor battery voltage and only start to recharge it once it drops below a certain value
